Morning Commute 3/23/00
It's hard to lift your head above
the masses,
media junkies and tech clones in this town.
People like to follow whoever's ahead,
too closely in gridlocked traffic,
and heartlocked lives.
Try to break out of stale train cars.
Release the stopper, and let fingers
comb uptight hair free.
Breathe,
and laughter flows like rainbow gumdrops
from a jar,
into eager children's hands.
