911

My glass front box
spoke dissonance,
dumbfounded
eyes saw chaos.
Screams buried rampant,
madness echoing,
city of fear.
Proud towers crumbled
like brittle mudspires,
blood, bone, concrete, steel.
Demon's playground
amongst the rubble.

Turned it off,
sting of tears,
despair
settling dust over skyscrapers,
and over a world
forever changed
in the space of an hour.
